Universal is suing over a ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ porno

Fifty Shades of Grey: A XXX Adaptation

Finally answering the question of whether or not you can make a porn parody out of a bad parody of porn, someone made a porn spoof of Fifty Shades of Grey. Yes, seriously. It turns out, Universal Studios (the company that owns the rights to the upcoming film adaptation) is not happy with this and is planning on suing Smash Pictures for making a XXX adaptation. Page Six reports:

Universal Studios – the company shooting the movie version of Fifty Shades of Grey – has reportedly slapped XXX film company Smash Pictures with a copyright infringement lawsuit. Smash Pictures has filmed a hardcore adaptation of the popular erotic novel called Fifty Shades of Grey: a XXX Adaptation, and the Hollywood studio is not happy. GossipCop has obtained the complaint filed by Universal, in which the studio claims that the skin flick in question takes “exact dialogue, characters, events, story and style from the Fifty Shades trilogy.”

Granted, this is technically considered a parody and is therefore protected by the first amendment, but still, you know how we could have avoided this? By just not making a Fifty Shades of Grey porn parody. Seriously, no more porn parodies. No more. Stop ruining perfectly good X-rated entertainment by aping crappy movies, television shows and books.
