Back when the Fantastic Four reboot was announced, a lot was made over some of the artistic choices. Well, good news! Here’s the first trailer, and not only does it still look like a Fantastic Four movie, but it didn’t cause every comic book in existence to spontaneously combust! Actually, while we’re on the subject: Really? People getting angry over a black Johnny Storm? This is the hill they’re going to die on? They can suspend disbelief that a human being can burst into flame, but said human having a white sister, either through adoption or divorced parents? That’s the limit?
Fantastic Four, a contemporary re-imagining of Marvel’s original and longest-running superhero team, centers on four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways. Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy. In Theaters–August 7, 2015 in 3D.
