Tina Fey set to guest star on ‘The Simpsons’

Tina Fey

Considering that even the guy from Joe Millionaire has been on The Simpsons — Seriously, remember that show? Yeah, the fake millionaire guy from that show no one remembers was on The Simpsons once. — you’d figure that Tina Fey would have made a guest spot on the show by now. Yeah, not so much it turns out, but that will be rectified soon as Liz Lemon herself will be appearing as Lisa’s abusive substitute teacher. Entertainment Weekly reports …

Tina Fey is going to be a mean girl… on The Simpsons. In an upcoming episode of the animated Fox comedy, the star/creator of 30 Rock will voice the role of Ms. Cantwell, an otherwise nice substitute teacher who does not warm to Lisa for some mysterious reason and bullies her. How bad does it get? “She gives Lisa a ‘B’ and Ralph an ‘A’ even though Ralph signed his paper ‘Ralpa,’” says exec producer Al Jean. “And Lisa has a reading kangaroo with a bunch of little joeys in it for the books that she reads, and [Ms. Cantwell] takes the joeys out and puts them in other kangaroos. Hardcore stuff.”

Once again: Seriously, how has Tina not been on the show already? Jonathan Franzen was on the show, and do you really think the average TV viewer even knows who Jonathan is? Probably not, no, although that’s because if you handed most of them a copy of The Corrections, they’d ask for some ketchup with their word sandwich.
