Tina Fey, Miley Cyrus and Bruce Willis will host ‘SNL’

In case the rapidly yellowing leaves, the number of kids in school, or the fact that everything now tastes like pumpkin hasn’t tipped you off yet, it’s almost fall, and you know what that means: season premieres for all of your favorite television shows! Weeee! Which of course means a brand-new season of Saturday Night Live, which according to Variety, will start off with one of the best hosts they ever had returning followed by a sharp quality drop-off in the next two …

Saturday Night Live will return to NBC on September 28th with alum Tina Fey serving as host of the season 39 premiere. Seg will mark Fey’s fourth time hosting the latenight NBC series since her departure as a cast member in 2006. She will be joined by musical guest Arcade Fire. Waiting in the wings while Fey opens up the new season of SNL as host are Miley Cyrus and Bruce Willis. Cyrus will host and be musical guest on the show’s October 5th broadcast, while Willis will host for the second time on October 12th with musical guest Katy Perry.

So Tina Fey is going to nail this one without a doubt, but between Miley Cyrus and Bruce Willis … ummm, not a good line-up there. Miley did a serviceable job last time she hosted, but she’s definitely a low-hanging fruit, so it’s going to be tough for the writers to work around the expectations there. Willis, on the other hand, is just humorless, so unless the regular cast can pick up the slack for him, I kind of feel like he’s going to weigh that evening down.
