Alef … hmmmm, really?! Actually as far as weird celebrity baby names go, this is really actually a pretty nice one. Anyway, after weeks of no one guessing, Natalie Portman finally revealed the name of her baby, which she named after the first letter of the Hebrew Alphabet.
It’s the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet for Natalie Portman and Benjamin Millepied’s baby son, Alef. According to an Israeli TV Show, Good Evening with Guy Pines, Portman, who was born in Israel, paid homage to her motherland by naming her son after the letter ‘A’ in the Hebrew alphabet. Alef was born in mid-June but the newborn’s first-time parents kept his name under wraps until letting it slip on the Israeli talk show. Baby Alef already calls one of the most talented women in Hollywood ‘mom’ and now he also has to live up to his lofty name — Alef represents the “oneness of God” and the element of air. SOURCE
Well, kind of a new name (if you ever heard of anyone else who named their kids Alef or one of the other letters, let us know!) but at least it’s a nice name and it actually means something. And at least they didn’t name them something stupid like Megatron because a Facebook group told them too, which I’m sad to say put’s the kid WAY ahead of like 90% of kids born today.
