Big surprise, right? 23-year-old chanteuse Taylor Swift is taking a page out of indie star Lana Del Rey’s book with her new music video for “I Knew You Were Trouble,” she’s going as far as even using the same director, Anthony Mandler. Accordingly the video is eerily reminiscent of Rey’s latest creation, “Ride.” Though both seem to be on the rise and progressing fabulously with their careers, to hold onto that niche market, clearly Swift is treading on glass in an attempt to get more street cred. Who wins? Self-proclaimed “self-styled gangsta Nancy Sinatra” of course. Aside from the Saturday Night Live catastrophe earlier this year, Del Rey has been growing in leaps and bounds when it comes to performing live. Check out one of her latest live performances, you’ll be quite surprised.
