Normally, I wouldn’t feel compelled to mention anything related to Vanessa Hudgens, other than her break-up with Zac Efron (CALL ME!), but the soundtrack to her new movie, Sucker Punch, has hit the Internet. And it’s really good.
Given that this movie was directed by Zack Snyder (who directed Watchmen, which also had an amazing soundtrack), it totally makes sense that the music would be perfectly chosen. The sci-fi-fantasy-adventure looks incredibly stylized, and the music sounds like a perfect match to the visuals we’ve been given from the previews.
I have to admit, I wasn’t really excited to see this movie, but after listening to the tracks, I’m stoked! Some notable mentions are the mashup I Want It All / We Will Rock You by Queen with Armageddon, the futuristic and psychedelic cover of White Rabbit from Emiliana Torrini, and of course the avant-grade Björk (featuring Skunk Anansie) with a remix of her song Army of Me (Sucker Punch Remix).
Sucker Punch isn’t hitting theaters until March 25 (this coming Friday), but for now, listen to the Sucker Punch Remix of Björk’s Army of Me below plus the entire album is streaming on AOL!
