Stockholm: Chrissie Hynde’s stellar solo debut album!

It’s hard to believe The Pretenders were rocking out back in 1978—when I was just two-years-old! Their first big success came with the release of their third single, “Brass In Pocket,” which reached number one in the UK and Australia and topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart at #14 here in the states. That was only the beginning, as the band is still officially a thing (their last album Break Up the Concrete was released back in 2008, 30 years after first joining up together), although band members have come and gone over the years, there’s been one thing consistent … lead singer and rock legend Chrissie Hynde. Her voice is so distinct, it’s hard to mistake her for anyone else—Chrissie is a true original. The other day I was browsing new music and saw she just released her solo debut album, Stockholm (iTunes). I immediately gave it a listen and was throughly impressed, it’s easily a contender for one of 2014’s best albums! Watch two music videos below for the tracks “You Or No One” and “Dark Sunglasses,” I highly suggest giving Stockholm a whirl, at age 62, Chrissie sounds better than ever. There’s something about her voice that just seriously induces a good case of goosebumps!
