Solange

Last week I had the chance to catch Solange‘s sold out show down at House of Blues over on Sunset. She has been busy promoting her latest EP release, True (featuring “Losing You”), which is totally fabulous if you haven’t heard it yet. I’ve been a fan ever since she dropped her stellar debut album, Sol-Angel & The Hadley St. Dreams, back in 2008. If you don’t know her, she might be easily written off as Beyoncé‘s little sister (or ‘basement baby,’ coined by Dlisted), but she’s actually an amazing and unique artist in her own right. Her style (think retro-ish soul and R&B) is completely different from Bey’s (who was in the audience with hubby Jay-Z), and she really shined last week, Solange sounded incredible and looked fantastic, she’s so adorably talented. Below you’ll find some pictures and video my good pal Joey was able to snap, don’t miss out on seeing her live if you have the chance. Solange has a number of upcoming shows, including two dates over in New York City at Webster Hall!
