If you’re not already in love with Modern Family star Sofia Vergara (at this point why wouldn’t you be? She has huge boobs, an awesome accent plus she’s hilarious), then get with the program! Before hitting it big in primetime, she starred in a 2006 movie called Grilled where she played a post-op transsexual. Anyway, in a new interview with The Advocate, she said that the role was totally fitting for her because she already looks like a transvestite, thanks to the fact that she pretty much exemplifies femininity.
Have you ever played a gay role?
I did a movie called Grilled with Ray Romano and Kevin James that went straight to video. I played a transsexual, a guy who had gone all the way with the operation to become a woman. I had a great time playing that character.Was it a challenge?
No, because I look like a transsexual anyway. I’m a woman, but I’m super-exaggerated with my boobs, my ass, my makeup, and my accent. When I get ready for an event, I always look at myself in the mirror and say, “I look like a transvestite!” I love it.
It’s great that someone finally gets that looking like a trans-woman is actually a good thing. Here’s the deal: when most people think of non-biological women, they usually think of linebackers in dresses. Turns out? Not so much. With FTMs, transvestites and drag queens, they usually get the look down a little better than biological women because unlike girls who are just born with the parts, they actually read the manual and modify their look so that the femininity is cranked up to 11. Think Jessica Rabbit, only real.
