hey y’all! here’s 52-year-old sharon stone looking fab on the latest cover of MORE magazine (did you know her middle name is yvonne? i didn’t!) while i was in NYC i was watching one of ms. stone’s guest appearances on law and order: SVU with my pal gillian – she was actually pretty decent and that christopher meloni is a total hottie! i’d like to see sharon nab more acting roles – girlfriend always brings a touch of camp to everything she does which of course i enjoy! in the meantime i should probably rent 2006’s basic instinct 2 because i never ended up seeing it – although i already know it won’t be nearly as good as the first time around! popbytes over & out for now … xoxo
On her heartbreaking divorce: Stone say she married her ex-husband with “every best intention for every good and wonderful thing.” And when it was over it crushed her. “It takes a long, long time to come to the point where you can actually say that you got married because you were in love with the person… to admit your own lovingness was, for me, a harder step. Not to be embarrassed or ashamed that I could love somebody who didn’t love me. And that can be OK.”
On the dry spell in her love life: “Life and love is like the ocean. Sometimes the tide is in and sometimes the tide is out, and sometimes it’s like the frigging Mojave.” Where’s the tide now? “For me? It’s Mojave! Fortunately, I like the desert. I’m a desert flower.”
On the “Sharon Stone” persona: “”I could cry telling you about it, because people don’t know that Sharon Stone character is an invention… my friends and I laugh so hard, because our joke is ‘Baby you do Sharon Stone better than anyone else.”
On celebrity: “I’m detached from my celebrity. I don’t need to be ‘it’ anymore.”
On being shameless: “I’m like a Prohibition-era flapper, I’m like a juke-joint hussy.” Feeling ashamed, she says, “is not an organic state of being, so shamelessness is closer to godliness. You have to put shame down.”
