Oh my word, there has been a lot of good new music going around as late … and this new track from Röyksopp and Robyn called “Do It Again” is no exception. I absolutely LOVE Robyn, ever since her ’97 hit song “Show Me Love,” she really is one of pop music’s brightest talents around, Sweden sure knows how to produce pop stars. I’ve been itching for some new music from her and this track totally quenched my thirst, it’s beyond awesome. I also love Röyksopp, in fact I saw her play with them a few years back at the Shrine (they’re swinging by the Hollywood Bowl on June 29th, I may try to go). Röyksopp and Robyn are seriously producing some of the hottest collaborations out there right now. The track serves as the lead single off their upcoming five track mini album, Do It Again, due out on May 26th (pre-order on iTunes), don’t miss the lyric video for “Do It Again” below—turn it up loud!
“Do It Again,” from the Do It Again mini album, available May 26th on Cherrytree / Interscope Records, is one of the most effervescent, effortlessly uplifting electro-pop tunes of recent years, and started life as a rave-inspired throwback. The inspiration for the “accidental pop song” came after a night out together in Bergen. It was just one of five tracks inspired by each other’s company, which compelled Röyksopp and Robyn to create something they had never done before. The Do It Again mini album represents the perfect coming together of three very original musical minds.
