RIP: Philip Seymour Hoffman

Philip Seymour Hoffman

Oh my gosh, I am in shock right now … award-winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman was found dead this morning in his Manhattan apartment from an apparent drug overdose, he was 46. I know he was struggling with heroin addiction (and did a stint in rehab last year) but it seemed like everything was back on track, especially after hearing he landed a new Showtime comedy series called Happyish. I’ve been a huge fan of his work ever since 1997’s Boogie Nights, one of my favorite movies of all-time, plus I loved him in 1998’s Happiness, he truly was a gifted actor, what a huge loss this is. This is just such terrible and tragic news, and reminds us yet once again how dangerous and deadly messing around with drugs can be. He is survived by his longtime partner costume designer Mimi O’Donnell, the couple had three children together. My heart goes out to his family and friends, this is so not the news I wanted to wake up to today, may Philip rest in peace, he will undoubtedly be sorely missed.
