Rihanna will release a $250 deluxe edition of ‘Unapologetic’

Rihanna - Unapologetic

Considering how much harder it is to sell albums in a digital age where people are more willing to buy singles rather than full, padded albums, you’d figure that people would be smart enough to make good albums and sell them for reasonable prices. On the other hand, Rihanna thinks getting back together with Chris Brown is a good idea, so here she is planning on releasing a $250 deluxe version of her next album, Unapologetic. Via AOL Music ….

Rihanna’s new album Unapologetic hits November 12th, and the singer announced plans to sell a limited release deluxe edition, The Diamonds Executive Platinum Box, for $250. Santa, are you listening? The special edition box comes with a number of limited edition items: A copy of the album, a unisex T-shirt, seven art print 12×15 lithographs, 2GB credit card-style USB, seven laptop stickers, and a View-Master containing 3D images depicting the singer’s style transformation. Besides all that, the package also includes a 40-page custom Rihanna notebook with handwritten notes, a personal note by Rihanna to her fans, and an exclusive fan mosaic poster. It all reportedly comes inside a collar box with a trap doors design.

Oh boy! A shapeless t-shirt, stickers, and a View-Master? It’s like the 80’s never left us! But seriously, $250? For an album and some tchotchkes? You’re doing it wrong.
