Chances are, you’ve probably seen at least one picture of Rihanna wearing her signature “cunt” necklace around, either in church or around kids (both of those pictures exist, and they’re absolutely amazing). But it turns out, cunt might actually be RiRi’s favorite word ever, to the point where she calls everyone cunt because apparently the word has different connotations in her native Barbados. Us Weekly reports:
The 23-year-old appears on the cover of British Vogue‘s November issue, where the We Found Love singer reveals her fondness for the word “c-nt.” “That word is so offensive to everyone in the world except for Bajans. You know African-Americans use the n-word to their brothers? Well, that’s the way we use the c-word,” Rihanna explains. “When I first came here, I was saying it like it was nothing, like, ‘Hey, c-nt,’ until my make-up artist finally had to tell me to stop. I just never know.”
To be honest, I kinda like the word cunt. I don’t use it against women, but you have to admit, it’s like faggot, in that when used in their regular connotations, they’re despicable words. But when used out of that context meant to degrade entire groups of people and instead used humorously for shock effect, they’re actually kind of funny. All I’m saying is, if you strip the words of their power, you eventually realize that the words themselves actually sound kind of ridiculous.
