PopBytes loves Karen Black!

hey kids! i was thrilled this afternoon when i got to see legendary actress karen black (join her on myspace) perform live on stage in a new play/musical called missouri waltz (which she also wrote!) down at the blank located on santa monica blvd at wilcox (a simply adorable little theater that has been up & running since 1990) i’ve been a huge fan of hers as long as i can remember – i saw burnt offerings & trilogy of terror back in the day and ever since then i’ve been hooked on ms. black!

she has done a ton of work and was even nominated for a best supporting actress oscar for five easy pieces (with jack nicholson) and garnered a golden globe nom for the day of the locust – at almost 68 – she’s still got it! the show itself was just ok (it could use a little tightening) but seeing her live up on stage was totally worth my time! plus she screamed twice in the play – something any horror aficionado would love! the show is running in june as well – there’s about twenty shows left – anyone local to los angeles who happens to be a karen black fan – go & see it! i hope everyone is enjoying the long holiday weekend – i’m about to get back to playing my wii – i can’t stop! popbytes over & out for now…xxoo!

PS make sure to watch the karen black film clip montage below – i really need to rent airport 1975 (special thanks to rick for the heads up on that one!)
