Melissa Etheridge "Uprising of Love" Remix

I absolutely love Melissa Etheridge and she has a super hot remix out (put together by the Bent Collective team) of her song, “Uprising of Love,” that’s directly supporting Uprising of Love, a new coalition which is helping to raise awareness about what’s going on over in Russia with regards to the unjust treatment of the LGBT community. The track (streaming below) will be available for purchase on iTunes next month and 100% of the proceeds will be going to the coalition’s partner, the Russian Freedom Fund. The fund is one of the only ways to make direct financial contributions to LGBT activists in Russia. I totally support Melissa and her efforts to help stop the injustices taking place in Russia, I simply couldn’t imagine living there as a gay man. My heart goes out to everyone having to endure state-sponsored discrimination, nobody should have to live their life in constant fear.

About Uprising of Love
Uprising of Love is a global movement in support of the safety and dignity of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex (LGBTI) Russians. Inspired by the original song by Melissa Etheridge, Uprising of Love, this movement is supported by prominent individuals in entertainment, sports, business, and politics and a number of LGBTI and human rights organizations. Launched in December 2013, Uprising of Love strives to support the LGBTI community in Russia and raise awareness of this cause internationally.

About the Russia Freedom Fund
The Russia Freedom Fund is a U.S. tax-deductible vehicle for making financial contributions in support of the LGBT movement in Russia and efforts to combat discrimination and violence there based on sexual orientation and gender identity. 100% of all donations will be paid out as grants. This initiative responds to growing concerns about recent state-sponsored discrimination in Russia and expresses solidarity between the international LGBT community and allies, and the Russian LGBT movement.
