Monday nights are never what you would call magical, but last night was truly magical in every sense of the word! My darling Courtney Love played the most incredible (and sold-out) show to an eager crowd (including Lana Del Rey) at Los Angeles’ Troubadour over in West Hollywood. I’ve been such a huge fan of Ms. Love’s for almost twenty (!) years now (she still holds claim to the only tattoo on my body), and she did not disappoint one bit! From old material (“Violet,” “Miss World”) to some newer stuff (“Pacific Coast Highway,” “Letter to God”), she sounded great (plus her band totally kicked ass), Courtney was super playful and really seemed to be enjoying herself. Of course, the crowd ate up every bit of her on-stage antics while singing along, it was such an amazing and intimate experience. This was my fourth time seeing Courtney play live, and it was without a doubt the best show (well, besides the first time I saw her play with Hole back in May of 1999), it was seriously a night that I won’t soon forget. I see tons of shows and this was really first-rate on so many levels, I feel blessed to have been there! My good pal Joey was able to snap a bunch of stunning photos plus there’s videos of “Celebrity Skin” and of course “Doll Parts,” which capped off the magical evening, enjoy!
