No ‘Ghostbusters 3’ for Bill Murray

Ghostbusters

For as long as Ghostbusters 3 has been a thing — Actually, I doubt even that at this point — Bill Murray has adamantly been against the whole thing. So this story about how Bill still isn’t joining the cast isn’t so much “news” as it is a reminder of two very crucial things: First, that they’re making a third Ghostbusters movie, possibly. Second, Bill Murray won’t do it for any price, and let’s not forget this is a guy who got tricked into voicing not one but two Garfield movies! HuffPo reports …

“Bill Murray will not do the movie,” the erstwhile Ray Stantz told the Telegraph. “He doesn’t want to be involved. He’s got six kids, houses all over America. He golfs in these tournaments where they pay him to turn up and have a laugh. He’s into this life and living it. I know we’d have a lot of fun [but] I can’t be mad at him. He’s a friend first, a colleague second. We have a deep personal relationship that transcends business and he doesn’t want to know.”

Look, I have no doubt that more than a few people want another Ghostbusters movie, but … you may want to let this one die already. If the star of the movie you want to reboot thinks it’s a bad idea, it’s generally safe to assume that it is a bad idea. Do you have any idea what some people would do for Bill Murray money? If the answer is “not Ghostbusters 3“, that should probably tip you off.
