After facing two of its cast members almost jumping ship on a sinking boat, MTV has decided to crackdown on the cast of Jersey Shore, so now if someone tries to leave the show, they will be fired. Yeah, that’s the kind of logic you can expect from the people who brought you such television classics as Teen Mom or My Super Sweet Sixteen.
Sources connected with production tell TMZ, the network is serious this time: if another cast member tries to walk off the show … that person will be fired, and the remainder of his or her contract will be terminated. No exceptions. We’re told it’s all a power play. With two cast members nearly jumping ship in the same week, MTV wants to reassert some authority … and show the cast who’s boss once and for all. So basically, if someone quits, they’ll be fired? Isn’t that just giving them exactly what they want? Hell, if someone looked me straight in the face and said “Don’t jump off that cliff or you’ll never be on Jersey Shore!”, I would take a running fucking leap and land head-first.
