movies on a sunday

oh my word popbytes went to the movies – and has two mini reviews for you all – keep in mind about a year ago writing for me was like drawing blood from my fingers – so grammar and politcal correctness aside – enjoy!

team america

ok i kept saying it but any movie that is entirely made of marionettes must be seen – and from the creators of south park – trey parker and matt stone – who couldnt resist? so i met up with a good friend – at the chinese theater – amid all the chaos from the 2pm premiere of the polar express we made it to the 5pm showing – and i loved it – from beginning to end – it was a biting satire that was a wild romp with puppets (an explicit sex scene unlike any others – twas a true hoot!) – i was amazed at all the techincal aspects – and i thought the script was excellent and was a ripe movie for the picking after all the election craziness!

kinsey

i got a chance to see a special sneak preview – courtesy of my pals over at outfest (hey s!) and i thoroughly enjoyed liam neeson as sex doctor alfred kinsey – directed by bill condon (of gods and monsters fame) this was a movie about the man – and how all those shocking (at the time like the late 40’s) sex reports came to be – the film is due to hit theaters nov 12th – any one up for a movie about a man who goes againts the norms and mores of his time – then kinsey is for you – neeson surely deserves an oscar nod – and laura linney and lynn redgrave also shine!

ps as soon as popbytes returned from the movies – i returned right to the tv – and while the tivo was doing the 2 hr special of extreme home makeover – i caught cold case on cbs – i love this show – i really do! but now im in preps for desperate housewives and boston legal…more tomorrow my pop children – popbytes out!
