morgan freeman does AARP

good morning! i never thought i’d be posting the cover of AARP‘s magazine – which is the bi-monthly publication of the ‘american association of retired people’ – but they’ve got one of my favorite actors morgan freeman on their new nov/dec cover – plus i realized eventually we’ll all have subscriptions to the magazine along with AARP member cards (senior discounts!) i can’t think of one movie i didn’t like that starred mr. freeman and next month he has a new film coming out called gone baby, gone which was directed by ben affleck and also stars mr. affleck’s brother casey (the film is based on a book by dennis lehane who also wrote mystic river) i’ve embedded the trailer below – it looks like a good tight mystery & suspense film! anyways i’m thrilled today is friday – i can’t wait to sleep late tomorrow! popbytes over & out for now…xxoo!

on being disheartened with his career in the late ’70s
“i was depressed. i was doing a television show, and i hated it. so i was very upset with myself, because now i was doing something i no longer want to be doing, just for the money, and that’s a bad place to be.”

on growing up and currently living in mississippi
“you know, you go around the world, and you have eaten in the best restaurants and stayed in the best hotels, but here, there is peace and quiet and solitude. and the realization that this has always represented safety.”
