I don’t listen to lots of country music, but I’ll admit to a fondness for Miranda Lambert. What can I say? She’s badass. Anyway, in light of the Grammys willingness to forgive Chris Brown and let him back onstage while acting like they were the real victims all along of when he nearly beat Rihanna to death, Miranda has gone on record to question why Chris even has a career in the first place while saying that if he ever laid a hand on her, he’d be looking down the barrel of a shotgun. Access Hollywood reports:
She tweeted on Monday: “He beat on a girl…not cool that we act like that didn’t happen.” Brown beat up then-girlfriend Rihanna the night before the Grammys in 2009. He pled guilty to an assault charge and was sentenced to five years of probation and six months of community labor. Lambert suggested Brown listen to her song Gunpowder & Lead about avenging domestic violence and “be put back in his place. Not at the Grammys.”
For the record, Gunpowder and Lead is a song about a domestic abuse victim whose pleas for help go unanswered by the police, so she decides to blow him away with a shotgun. So yeah, I’d say look out Chris, because eventually you’re probably going to beat someone who won’t be quite as forgiving as RiRi.
