In what is either the sanest statement a celebrity has ever made, or simply a case of the pot calling the kettle annoying and talentless, Miley Cyrus took a swipe at fellow teenage girl pop singers Justin Bieber and Rebecca Black, saying that a music career should come from hard work instead of random Youtube success. I don’t know, remember keyboard cat? Now that guy has super crazy skill.
13-year old “singing” sensation Rebecca Black burst suddenly onto the scene a couple weeks back when her video Friday started racking up millions of Youtube hits. Miley Cyrus remains unimpressed. “It should be harder to be an artist. You shouldn’t just be able to put a song on YouTube and go out on tour,” she told Australia’s Daily Telegraph. Youtube has kickstarted more than a few young careers recently, including Greyson Chance and Miley’s bud Bieber. SOURCE
Now some of you are probably pointing out that Miley Cyrus is Billy Ray Cyrus‘ daughter, so obviously she had a step up and therefore can’t really talk shit. However, bear in mind that she has Billy Ray for a dad. If I had to hear “Hey, didn’t your Dad sing Achey Breakey Heart and then absolutely nothing else?” everyday of my life, I probably would have shoved a bitch by the second grade. Let it never be said that Miley didn’t earn that recording contract.
