So apparently, the big gossip item right now as we head into 2014 is that Miley Cyrus apparently slammed Beyoncé in some random interview, which blew up huge because the story combines everything people love in a gossip story: Miley, Beyoncé and celebrity-on-celebrity shade. Except it turns out, that interview probably never actually happened. Go figs. Us Weekly reports …
Cyrus reportedly said that the biggest blow to Beyoncé’s career was choosing to have daughter Blue Ivy, almost 2 years. “As Beyoncé grows in motherhood and all the crap it does to your body, it will create a vacuum for fresh young faces to rise up and no one else can properly fill that void right now,” the former Disney star reportedly mused. “I got the total package, you know, the curves, the rhythm, and the voice. I’m just the best.”
Cyrus quickly took to Twitter to dispel the rumors.
“That quote people MADE UP about Beyoncé just made me lol! Imagine if I said I got ‘the looks and the curves I’m just better!’ Bahahahhaha,” she tweeted on Jan. 2. “How are people allowed to make up s–t & then out quotes around it saying I said that s–t! WTF!!?! don’t worry. getting 2 the bottom of this s–t. making the liar retract the statement. U can cause ALOT of drama but NOT between me & B!”
On one hand, denying you threw shade is kind of the go-to move for celebrities trying to make amends, and I totally would have dismissed it if it weren’t for the fact that the original Daily Mail article is now mysteriously down. Combined with the fact that the Daily Mail isn’t really known for journalistic integrity, and you basically have the makings of one big non-story.
