In a new report via HuffPo, Michael Douglas opened up about his bout with throat cancer, claiming that he got it after receiving HPV from performing oral sex. Yup, you can get cancer from oral sex!

“Without wanting to get too specific, this particular cancer is caused by HPV, which actually comes about from cunnilingus,” the Behind the Candelabra star, 68, explains. “I did worry if the stress caused by my son’s incarceration didn’t help trigger it. But yeah, it’s a sexually transmitted disease that causes cancer,” Douglas, who is married to Catherine Zeta-Jones, notes. “And if you have it, cunnilingus is also the best cure for it.”

Of course, if you want to avoid HPV, the best thing you can do is get your Gardasil shot. Yes, Gardasil. It’s not just for teenage girls. It’s not exactly cheap, but it’s spaced out over a series of shots, and it should innoculate you from the most common forms of HPV that cause cancer. Believe me, a couple of shots here and there are a lot better than worrying about cancer and having warts.
