Yesterday, we heard a rumor about how Nicki Minaj was reportedly going to be one of the judges on American Idol, and oh how we laughed and laughed because it was just a rumor, right? Nope, turns out this could legit happen, and Mariah Carey is not happy. Turns out she’s not at all thrilled that a younger woman could be showing her up on the judging panel, and just like that, feminism was set back twenty years. TMZ reports:
Sources connected with Idol tell TMZ … Mariah was led to believe she would be the only woman on the judge’s panel. Choosing Nicki would not only crush that expectation, it would add insult to injury because Nicki (29) is a lot younger than Mariah (42). The second scenario … we’re told some of the honchos believe it’s a mistake to have 2 women and a man on the panel, and a 4th male judge would be necessary. And there’s one other thing. Sources connected with the show say they’re worried … if the judge’s end up being Mariah, Nicki and Randy … middle America might not welcome the blackout.
Wait, huh? Are you telling me that people would still freak out if the judging panel on American Idol didn’t have any white people on it? They do know this is just Idol, right? It’s a televised karaoke contest, and somehow your entire world would simply implode in on itself if three black people told desperate 20-somethings that their cover of an Adele song was pitchy? Congratulations, your stupid just made me forget all about Mariah’s stupid, and that really is no small feat.
