Madonna has had a career for something like over thirty years now, mostly because of her stellar vocal range and her wonderful song-writi- PFFFFT. Sorry, almost made it through that one with a straight face. No, it’s entirely because of shock value. Shock value, shock value and more shock value. Anyway, here comes more news about how Madonna did something shocking for attention, this time by continuing to play around with guns during her concert in Scotland right after the recent events in Aurora, Colorado. Yet, we all know Madonna will never change up her show even if she’s under pressure, even by the police. Starpulse reports:
Scotland police advised Madonna not to include images of firearms and weapons themselves during a concert in Edinburgh in the wake of Friday’s The Dark Knight Rises massacre in a Colorado cinema, but the pop star used them anyway. Madonna defied local authorities on Saturday and brandished pistols and an AK47 assault rifle during her gig. She has used the props during all the shows on her “MDNA” tour. “Madonna and her dancers using replica guns was always in bad taste, but given what happened in Colorado it is even worse. She should know better,” a spokeswoman for the Mothers Against Guns organization told local newspaper the Daily Record.
Oh Madonna, you and your trivialization of violence in the wake of a massive tragedy for the sake of art! Ha ha, oh you little scamp you! If you weren’t so cute and lovable, I would call this an opportunistic ploy to capitalize on a very real and very public display of senseless killings. But hey, you made a couple decent albums in the 1980’s, so it’s all good!
