Lindsay Lohan finally sent the IRS money

Lindsay Lohan

Despite the fact that Charlie Sheen gave Lindsay Lohan $100,000 more than a month ago so that she would finally pay her back taxes, Lindsay has only just recently actually bothered to fork over some cash to the IRS, because she is a shining example of responsibility, assuming the bar you set for responsibility is so low, The Molepeople are tripping over it. E! Online reports …

According to an official release issued by the IRS and obtained by E! News, the 26-year-old paid $93,701.57 to remove a lien that was assessed against her Encino, Calif., home. And according to some reports, she did so with a $100,000 check given to her by her Scary Movie 5 costar Charlie Sheen. Per one report, LiLo used Charlie’s six-figure donation to get her back in the black and subsequently put the remaining $6,300 toward her 2010 taxes, for which she is still in the hole for a whopping $133,000.

Does anyone else remember Buttons and Mindy from Animaniacs? If not, here’s a refresher: Mindy was a cartoon baby who constantly wandered off obliviously into fatal danger and had to be saved multiple times by her put-upon dog, Buttons. The more I think about it, I realize this is the perfect metaphor for LiLo’s life: an oblivious human being with the developmental skills of an infant stumbling head-first into trouble while everyone around her has to save her ass from her own ineptitude.
