A New Lady Gaga Song Appears (with The Help of Zedd and Fans)
Okay, maybe that was a bit of a tease, but Lady Gaga gifted Zedd (German EDM producer / DJ extraordinaire) a lavish amount of vocals for his track “Stache.” The song appears on his debut album Clarity which was just released last week on Interscope Records. Gaga doesn’t appear on the album proper but she has had such a “major musical boner” for Zedd, according to her tweet back in August. The feeling is obviously mutual because their courtship began when Zedd opened Gaga’s Born This Way: The Remix album last year with his interpretation of “Born This Way.” There have been rumors that Zedd will be working with Gaga on her new record ARTPOP but nothing has been confirmed yet.
To complicate the origin of this track even more, Gaga tweeted a #SOUNDPUZZLE for her fans to correctly synchronize her vocals with Zedd’s “Stache.” After a few failed attempts by other little monsters, a SoundCloud user by the name of Jamesesesess got it right. The result is an EDM dream! These two creative forces are coming together to take over the pop world.
Is this the future of pop music? Collaborations from not just artist and producer but also fans? Twitter allows access and communication while SoundCloud hosts a library of recorded sounds. Things could get very interesting.
This past weekend PopBytes was able to catch Zedd (and Porter Robinson) do their thing in the Dance Forest at Virgin Mobile’s FreeFest. If those sounds/beats/blips are any indication of what Zedd might offer Gaga on ARTPOP we are super stoked.
