Lady Gaga’s new song is … depressing

Lady Gaga

This is Lady Gaga‘s new song called “Princess Die”. Go ahead: swirl around a bit. Smell the bouquet. Swish it around in your mouth and spit it back out. How does it taste?

Yes, she’s doing the old “Wah, I’m rich and famous and beloved. I should just kill myself.” bit. Yeah, seriously. Look, I’m not about to say that famous people aren’t allowed to be sad, but let’s face it: The whole song hinges on the ideal that fame is some horrible pit of sadness and that she wishes everyone would stop staring at her. Boohoo. I’m sorry, but I HATE when celebrities do this. No one is forcing you to be famous. No one is forcing you to walk around in ridiculous costumes wherever you go. Bitch, you can live of residuals for the rest of your life. If you’re so depressed with your current life, throw on your jeans, stay home, and be a happy nobody for the rest of your days. But don’t get up on stage and sing about how sad it is that you have to go on stage and sing.

Other than that, the song’s not bad. It’s in between a Lana Del Rey and a sad Regina Spektor track.
