Lady Gaga walked in the Thierry Mugler fashion show at Paris Fashion Week today. Wait … Thierry Mugler? Before Gaga’s involvement with the brand, which has gone on for a while, (remember her Origami Dress, the one that looked like it was growing crystals? That was from the design house) the only thing I knew about them was a couple perfume ads (Angel) from department stores. Turns out that Gaga’s fame really can transfer to others.
In a live broadcast of backstage and the show itself we were able to see the Lady being photographed by celebrity photographer Terry Richardson and being escorted by designer Nicola Formichetti. On the runway, we also saw Zombie Boy of Thierry Mugler Menswear and Born This Way fame.
“If I vomit on stage it’ll be great press”, said Gaga backstage.
More importantly though, it seems as though we were treated to a sneak preview of what we can expect from Gaga’s new album, Born This Way. The show was set to new Gaga tracks: the immediately recognizable Scheiße, Born This Way (which had its video premiere earlier this week) and a new track Government Hooker, which sounded like a dark combo of La Habanera and a mid 90’s girl pop group. So all in all, I think it was pretty awesome. With a name check to JFK, is the song about Marilyn Monroe? I guess we’ll have to wait and see until the full track drops, but for now listen to a clip below!
