If you’ve been reading PopBytes for the past few years, you probably know all about my intense love and hate relationship with Katy Perry. When she first arrived on the music scene, I seriously couldn’t stand her at all. Yet ever since she released her sophomore album Teenage Dream (2010), I somehow become a huge fan. She still bugs me a bit but there’s no denying that album is truly one of the most solid pop releases ever packed with a bunch of number one hits. It almost pains me to admit that but just like George Washington, I simply cannot tell a lie. Now Katy is capitalizing on the album’s incredible success by releasing Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection which is basically the album along with some extra unreleased tracks / remixes, one of the bonuses happens to be a song called Dressin’ Up, it’s actually totally solid and catchy, a perfect choice to include on the re-release. Check out the new lyric music video, it’s truly a stellar track, no matter how you feel about Ms. Perry, love or hate her, girlfriend is doing something right! Now that she’s milked this album for all it’s worth, I’m beyond curious to see what she’ll come up with (along with her producers) to try and top her previous effort. I wish Katy all the luck in the world because it will be an extremely difficult task to keep up this kind of success and pure pop energy.
