Justin Bieber vs. The Black Keys

Justin Bieber and Patrick Carney

If you were wondering if Justin Bieber would ever let go of the fact that he wasn’t nominated for a Grammy: Nope. Never. At the Grammys, someone asked The Black Keys (a rock group) what they thought about Justin (the most palatable, white bread, pop act out there) getting shut out. You can see where this is going, right? Yeah, drummer Patrick Carney basically said Justin wasn’t good enough yet to get a nod, and that he should be happy that he’s a teenage multi-millionaire. In turn, Justin decided that he was going to fight the rock duo who are twice his size. Here’s their feud, via Vulture

On Sunday night, Black Keys drummer and occasional shit-talker Patrick Carney told TMZ that Justin Bieber didn’t deserve any Grammys. His thoughts: “Grammys are for like music, not for money … and he’s making a lot of money. He should be happy.” Guess who’s not happy, at least with that quote. Justin Bieber, who tweeted: “the black key drummer should be slapped around haha.” Okay, someone put Bieber on social-media time-out.

Look, I’m not about to say that Justin is a bad artist, but simply put, if you’re measuring artists based on their work, he simply got shut out this year by better, more mature artists. That’s just how it is, people. You can be a 9, but if someone out there is a 10, chances are, the award is going to the 10. You can bitch and moan about it all you want, but them’s the facts.
