jordin sparks is our new american idol!

oh my gosh – it’s all over and jordin sparks won the ‘honor’ of being our next american idol! (after 74 million votes!) i was rooting for ms. sparks until last night when i voted multiple times for blake lewis but i’m glad jordin won! she for sure was the better singer – and only being 17 – she has plenty of time to grow into being a kick-ass entertainer!

overall i had a lot of fun watching the finale – highlights for me included gwen stefani performing her new single ‘4 in the morning’ (although from another location) and kelly clarkson was quite good too – i also loved gladys knight singing ‘midnight train to georgia’ with the top six ladies – a total favorite song of mine! then i jumped out of my seat when bette midler came on doing her classic ‘wind beneath my wings’ – i must go catch her when she takes over for celine dion in las vegas! (who doesn’t love her flick beaches?!?)

right now i just feel drained – it has been such a whirlwind since this season started and now we’ve got a much needed idol break for a couple of months (along with paula abdul who has been so freakin’ loopy lately – something is up with her) the next round kicks off in january ’08! if you’re curious to hear jordin sparks‘ new single ‘this is my now’ (i still say it’s a total shitty song) the good people over at AOL already have the goods! popbytes over & out for tonight…xxoo!
