January Jones seems like a super nice lady, as long as you’re willing to forget about the fact that she generally acts super-assy in interviews, she slept with a married man and decided to keep the baby out of spite, and even her 11-year-old co-stars think she’s a complete harpy bitch. Anyway, her co-star John Slattery is going into damage control by saying that she’s not really a bitch, just a really good actress. Clearly, he has never seen X-Men: The First Class.
But given her chilly on-screen relationship with her son, that makes sense, Slattery told E! Online as he went to bat for her off-screen persona.
“Well, it’s an intimidating character,” he told E!. “I mean, that’s the character. Betty Draper is an intimidating woman I suppose, if you were a seven-year-old boy [or] her son.” SOURCE
Here’s the thing: I’m pretty sure Jared Gilmore, who is a Screen Actors Guild award winner by the way so obviously he knows a thing or two about acting, can tell the difference between someone playing a character who happens to be a frigid bitch, and someone who is a frigid bitch in real life. He doesn’t look at January Jones and think “Man, my mother Betty Draper sure is cold”, he thinks “Hey January, just because you’re named after a month in winter doesn’t mean you can act like a fucking ice queen”. I’m just saying, kids are usually pretty good at telling the difference between real life and harpy snow witch.
