Jersey Shore’s Vinny rapped about rape …

Vinny Guadagnino

It turns out, people who willingly sign over the rights to MTV to air footage of them having drunken sex may not have the best sense of judgment. Case in point: Jersey Shore star Vinny Guadagnino decided to release his own rap track, because reality TV and singing are basically the same thing. Then he made the brilliant move where he sang about raping a chick, and you can see where this is going so I’m just going to cut straight to the blurb from the Huffington Post.

“The lyrics in Vinny Guadagnino’s new rap song that glorify rape are ignorant. Trivializing this violent crime sends a dangerous message to the public,” a rep for the organization told TMZ. “Whoa! Some people really know how to take things out of context ! #LearnToListenToMusic … It was fun though!” Vinny later wrote on his Twitter page, by way of explanation.

Look, I’m not going to say that the lyrics glorify rape, because I’m pretty sure the entire thing is too goddamn stupid to glorify anything other than drinking yourself into permanent brain damage. Was it a stupid line? Yes, but the song isn’t about rape. It’s about an idiot who couldn’t write or sing to save his life, which is entirely different. If I could, I’d just grab a big red rubber stamp that says “DERP!” and just hammer it all over this stupid story.
