So I kind of thought today was going to be a quiet day, since most of the usual suspects are currently wrapped up in all the nothing they do every day and the summer months haven’t really kicked in yet. Except nope! We’re getting a doozy of a story, as Jay Z and Beyoncé‘s little sister Solange Knowles got into a fight in an elevator at Rihanna‘s Met Gala afterparty that culminated in Solange getting physical, watch a bit of the video footage below. Because if there’s one place you want to get into a cat fight, it’s in a box hanging by a tether multiple floors above the ground. TMZ reports …
A large man — who appears to be a bodyguard — attempts to hold Solange back, but she manages to connect at least 3 times. At one point Solange throws a kick and Jay grabs her foot, but never attempts to strike her. Beyonce stands by without getting physically involved. It’s unclear what triggered the fight. And this is interesting. When you look closely, you see the bodyguard hit the emergency stop switch on the 12th floor — mid fight — presumably to keep the fight private.
Not that I know what triggered it, or who’s to blame or what the hell happened, but I’m pretty sure that you don’t ever want to get into a brawl in an enclosed space, surrounded by innocent people where there are cameras installed in every corner. Preferably, no one would be getting into brawls at all, but the setting for this just seems markedly bad for everyone involved.
