good morning y’all – let the good times of monday begin! so last night i was all stressed out over what to feature for this week’s monday .mp3 but then i found a leftover episode of new now next on my tivo (a show over on logo featuring new music videos with a gay friendly vibe) i tossed it on to see what new music was being featured – thankfully i came across georgia native janelle monáe (join her on myspace) and her incredible track many moons – instantly i was like i seriously need to feature her this week on popbytes! the song does remind me a drop of sounds from outkast & gnarls barkley (along with this pinball number cartoon from sesame street) but with it’s own girly pleasant twist (upon doing my research i found out ms. monáe actually did work with big boi from outkast) you can find the track over on itunes – it’s off her debut EP album metropolis: the chase suite (released back in august under diddy‘s bad boy label) the first of four planned mini releases! you must watch the video below which totally sold me on janelle monáe – plus there’s a hot remix available for download! popbytes over & out for now…xoxo
