It’s going to be a Mariah Carey Christmas! (Again!)

Full disclosure here: I may be a soulless, black-hearted bitch (seriously, it’s on my resume. Ask MK) but I LOVE Christmas. Love love love Christmas. Any excuse to decorate my apartment with lights, exchange gifts and bake cookies is fine by me. Did you know there’s only 95 days until Christmas? You do now. Anyway, Mariah Carey is going to be releasing another Christmas album, which means my mother and I will finally have something new to listen to while we drink too much spiked eggnog and make anatomically correct gingerbread men.

As autumn leaves begin to fall, international superstar Mariah Carey puts the finishing touches on MERRY CHRISTMAS II YOU, her second career album of holiday tunes, arriving November 2nd. Highlighting the long-awaited new album is a brand new recording of Mariah’s all-time standard, All I Want For Christmas Is You. In addition to traditional yuletide fare – The First Noel, Little Drummer Boy, O Little Town of Bethlehem, O Come All Ye Faithful and more – MERRY CHRISTMAS II YOU also contains four original songs composed by Mariah, including the new single, Oh Santa, and many more surprises for the fans.

At first, I was all like “Oh my God, a 2010 version of All I Want For Christmas Is You! Yay!” And then I remembered that “a 2010 version” of any song pretty much means two things: Auto-tune and a cameo by Nicki Minaj. I await with cautious optimism here Mimi. Cautious optimism.
