It’s De-Lovely: ‘Anything Goes’ in Los Angeles

Anything Goes

A few weeks ago I was able to attend the opening night of Cole Porter‘s classic 1934 musical Anything Goes at downtown Los Angeles’ Ahmanson Theatre. It’s the Roundabout Theatre Company production that walked off with three Tony Awards, including Best Revival of a Musical! To be completely honest, I wasn’t sure if I was going to enjoy it (I’m more about modern musicals), but gosh was I completely wrong, not only did I like it, I LOVED it! I was grinning ear to ear by the time I left, in fact my pal Joey and I were convinced we needed to take tap dance lessons! Broadway sensation Rachel York was truly incredible as the sassy Reno Sweeney, she had the entire audience up on its feet for a huge standing ovation at the end. The show is playing now through January 6th, do not miss out on seeing one of the most dazzling and upbeat productions I’ve seen in a long time!
