indigo girls – what are you like

good morning! for those of you who know me personally – and for those reading my blog – you must know about my intense love of the indigo girls (many thanks to my high school pal liz costa for first introducing them to me back in 1992) since discovering ’em i’ve probably seen emily & amy about 25x in concert (they’re tied with tori amos) i totally adore emily saliers and amy ray and tomorrow they’ve got a brand new album coming out called poseidon and the bitter bug (their 11th studio album) it’s double-disc release – both contain the same songs – one was produced with a full band – the other is all acoustic with just the girls and their trusty guitars – i’ve been listening to both discs non-stop for the past two weeks – once again i’m thoroughly impressed … no other duo around has such heart-felt lyrics – and when they harmonize together – it’s pure musical bliss! i’m so excited over the fact they’ll be swinging by los angeles again on may 14th for a show at the el rey theatre – their live shows are always a truly incredible & personal experience – i’m keeping my fingers crossed they might have a little time to meet up with me for a mini-interview (here’s my first interview with the girls) in celebration of their new album – i’ve got an exclusive stream of the first single off their new album called what are you like – please have a listen below (many thanks to angie & kurt for making this happen – you guys rock) popbytes over & out for now … xoxo
