One of my fave new discs is Record Collection from Mark Ronson. The stylish DJ and hip producer rounds up an eclectic cabal of vocal guests for it, including Simon Le Bon, Boy George, Q-Tip, and D’Angelo. Plus the dude’s got the golden touch for polishing up soul music (Amy Winehouse) and spit-shining pop ditties (Lily Allen). Thus, it makes ya wonder if when he recorded The Bike Song (featuring Spankrock and Kyle Falconer), he had The Temptations floating around in his head. Because as The Reborn Identity proves, this happy go lucky hit just rides along flawlessly with I Can’t Get Next To You.
