I am by no means a legal expert when it comes to pregnancy laws or maternity/paternity laws, but I think that generally speaking, it’s illegal to fire someone for being pregnant. I’m guessing here. Anyway, it turns out that Hilary Duff ended up getting shitcanned from the reboot of Bonnie & Clyde for getting herself knocked up. I mean in all fairness, it’s really hard to rob banks when you’re preggers and I don’t think they make bulletproof vests for the pregnant lady, but still …
Duff was supposed to play Bonnie Parker in the upcoming film … but sources involved in the production tell us they’re moving forward sans Hilary — a decision that was made right after Hil broke her baby news last week. We’re told the director is already shopping for a new Bonnie, and the split was amicable. As one source put it, “Hilary won’t be available until next June. If we could wait we would.” Shooting is scheduled for this Fall. SOURCE
So the good news is that the whole thing was an amicable agreement, and I’m happy that she decided to take time off work in order to focus on her pregnancy, but is anyone else still freaking out over the fact that Lizzie McGuire is playing a murderous bank robber and is about to have a pregnancy? because I still remember her back when she had tiny, normal sized teeth and was on a show where she co-starred with a tiny, cartoon version of herself.
