So remember how a few days ago, Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin were caught on camera cutting off a school bus on their Vespas while driving their kids home? Well, according to Page Six, neither of them were ever actually licensed to be driving those stupid little things to begin with. Yay! This whole situation just got slightly worse!
Gwyneth Paltrow’s scooter near-miss should have never happened. It turns out that the actress isn’t even licensed to drive in the state of California.“If you reside in California, you have 10 days to obtain a license,” a state DMV official told Inside Edition after the TV show inquired about Paltrow’s DMV record. Paltrow, 40, and husband Chris Martin, 36, moved to Los Angeles with their children earlier this summer, and have yet to apply for new licenses.
To be honest, I don’t think either of them having licenses would have made what they did any better, but I mean really: You and your kid are riding around on a tiny little crotch-rocket with zero safety features, and at no point does it ever occur to you to maybe look around to make sure that you’re not about to collide with a giant metal tube of death? The best case scenario in that is that you’re going to high-five somebody’s windshield with your face.
