There’s a first time for everything, right? This week, it’s our first fitness chick! Sex & the City‘s Natasha (Mr. Big’s ex-wife and Tom Brady‘s baby momma IRL) Bridget Moynahan smacks the August cover of Self, revealing how she keeps her post-baby body tight. Rather than obsess over weight, she’s focused on an active lifestyle and setting an example for that million dollar baby.
To stay on track, she hits the gym three times a week using dumbbells, resistance bands, BOSU (balance ball training system) and a treadmill as part of her workout regimen.
Being a mother is a great motivation, she says; “Making sure I’m healthy is something I pass on to my child. If you’re treating yourself with respect and making a healthy lifestyle, it can only rub off on your children.” Like herself, she says her kids will play sports. “I think being involved with sports as a child is really important. Now, no matter where I am, I can do something physical. You can go anywhere in the world and pick something up — waterskiing, skiing, surfing … you just adapt.” (On a personal tip, my parents forced me to play sports as a kid; I totally resented it but am now thankful in retrospect)
“It’s a combination of wanting to be strong, fit and healthy and enjoying the stress release,” Bridget adds. “If you’re healthy all around, you’ll feel better — and if you feel better, you’ll have a more positive outlook. It’s all connected.”
The more you put into it, the more you get out of it — in every aspect of life, not just your muscles. Get connected and stay beautiful! {w}
