I know this must come as a shock to many of you, but I’m actually a huge Feist fan. I know, I bet none of you ever saw that one coming, didja? Anyway, Feist just announced a follow-up to her huge hit, The Reminder, called Metals, which is slated to release in October.
On October 4, Feist returns with her highly anticipated new album, Metals, out on Cherrytree/Interscope. It’s the follow-up to her 2007 breakout The Reminder. The 12-song album was recorded in Toronto and Big Sur, with Feist collaborating with frequent partners in crime Chilly Gonzales and Mocky, as well as producer Valgeir Sigurðsson. SOURCE
What’s interesting is that this is Feist’s first album on a major label. Well, sort of. Cherrytree Records also rep Robyn, La Roux, and even used to be Lady Gaga‘s label before she hit it big, so it’ll be interesting to see where she takes this as opposed to the more guitar-backed cafe coolness she performed while with Arts & Crafts, but by the sound of it, it seems to pick a bit from her last album, plus a bit from Broken Social Scene. Oh October, why must you be so far away?
