This week has been BIG on the fashion scene, we’re right in the middle of the men’s Spring Summer 2011 fashion weeks (the clothes, bags and boys that came out of Paris and Milan were HOT), we’ve seen behind the scenes images of Kate Moss dressed as a dominatrix from a SHOWstudio shoot for i-D magazine and one of the biggest fashion editor scandals has just hit! Earlier this week, Jezebel received a tip that one of the best-known party reporters Derek Blasberg (who writes for Style.com, Harper’s Bazaar and popbytes’ favourite V) asked Yves St. Laurent for $2,500 to cover a perfume-launch party for Style.com. Shocker. Blasberg then admitted to consulting for YSL for the party’s guest list, kicking off the “Twitter party” etc. This is a total violation of Style.com’s policy, as is it bad practise for these deals to take place between journalists and brands! Reaction has been pretty mixed on this – let us know what you think below! |
On a lighter note, La Roux performed at the Victor & Rolf show on Day One of Paris Fashion week and Lady Gaga‘s Alejandro was featured at the Armani show in Milan (skip to 8 minutes 55 on the YouTube video here) the boys were all dressed in the S&M soldier outfits featured in the video – HOT! Tom Ford also launched some Hitchcock-inspired campaign images featuring Nicholas Hoult and Freja Beha Erichsen, and we got to see Kate Moss dressed as a dominatrix in a House of Harlot rubber skirt, PVC studded Versace corset and huge Vivienne Westwood platform heels, all for a shoot that is set to appear in i-D magazine in a couple of months. HOT.
That is this week’s FASHIONBYTES over and out. Check out mediacation for fashion insights during the week and we’ll see you back here next Friday!
