Today marked the launch of London Fashion Week (which is where it is at – as always) one of my highlights this week will be working the Fashion Fringe at Covent Garden show tomorrow chaired by the one and only John Galliano, which is set to be truly epic. For Popbyters stateside, New York Fashion Week looked amazing this year (from afar), my personal highlights being the Mik Cire SS11 show, which may not have been a celeb studded event, but the collection was DAMN hot and this shot of Indashio and his current muse and Kanye West‘s ex Amber Rose.
Tom Ford‘s return to womenswear however, was a HUGELY celeb-studded event with a model cast including Julianne Moore, Beyoncé, Daphne Guinness, Lauren Hutton and more. Sadly no photographers were allowed in, and the official snapper was the hugely talented Terry Richardson. He and Tom have the pics strictly under lock and key until January … the only preview that we have is the leaked super sexy pre-show head shots of the celeb cast.
In other news, Lady Gaga made headlines in a meat dress – which I am not even going to discuss because once something has been trending on Twitter for a week, it pretty much means that EVERYONE has heard about it. What you MIGHT not have seen though, is a picture of the original meat dress first done 23 years ago, in a controversial 1987 sculpture by Canadian artist Jana Sterbak. Now we can ALL sound super smart when a Gaga Stan tells us how cool the dress is … and I am sure that if Jeremy Scott wants to host another Gaga-inspired show next season, we will see it there too. GASP.
To wrap things up, I promised the girls and gays that I would share the fully shirtless Cristiano Ronaldo for Armani short film with you this week, so here it is along with a stunning and awesome shot (plus a video) of Kate Moss from Another Magazine in 3D. Happy Friday y’all.
