Normally, I’d be more than happy to take Labor Day off, even though it’s kind of a useless holiday that basically acts as breakup sex with summer. The more you think about that one, the more it makes sense. Anyway, I was going to just putz around all day, but then alleged nude pictures of Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, and pretty much every female celebrity you could ever think of leaked onto the web, so now we’re going to talk about this massive photo leak. We’re not going to link to any of the shots, partially because we’d get sued to hell and back and partially because … well, we can talk about that below. Via Variety …
Nude photos of Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande and Kirsten Dunst, among many others, leaked online Sunday morning in one of the biggest celebrity hacking scandals in recent memory. The images, which first appeared on image-sharing site 4chan, show most of the celebrities nude or in provocative poses. A spokesperson for Lawrence confirmed the photos were real and blasted the hackers for their “flagrant violation of privacy.”
“The authorities have been contacted and will prosecute anyone who posts the stolen photos of Jennifer Lawrence,” her representative warned. A total of 101 celebrities were purportedly hacked, although it’s unclear how many of those photos are authentic. Other stars on the list include Aubrey Plaza, Kim Kardashian, Vanessa Hudgens, Rihanna, Lea Michele, Hillary Duff, Cat Deeley and US soccer star Hope Solo.
All right, so let’s go over a few things when it comes to naked pictures …
- It is completely natural to take nude pictures of yourself. Believe me, almost everyone does it, or has done it at some point in your life. You’re not weird or wrong for doing it; you’re a human being who’s just trying to have consensual, adult fun. Or maybe you’re just documenting things for objective research purposes. Who knows?
- I really shouldn’t have to say this, but don’t be that sh!thead asshole who goes around leaking other people’s nude photos. They are not yours to share, and you sure as sh!t don’t have their consent, which is what this all comes down to: consent. This is a matter of invading someone else’s personal privacy against their will or without consent and using it for your own purposes. So basically, if you’re one of those people who’s all like “F*CK THE NSA!” but then you turn around and start ogling a bunch leaked nude photos, you might have missed something.
